This month I took a little winter getaway to the vibrant, bohemian town of Tulum, Mexico. If you're into warm breezes, crystal clear turquoise waters, amazing seafood and relaxing yoga, this town is a must visit! Tulum is about 2 hours south of Cancun and can only be accessed by car from the Cancun airport but, it's totally worth the drive!
I took this opportunity to capture some travel and hospitality imagery while staying at both an Airbnb in Tulum Centro (the town) and the infamous Papaya Playa Project along the beach road. I really enjoy capturing the entire experience of a place and what makes it unique, and beautiful Tulum did not make it hard to capture some amazing images. A typical day when you stay in Tulum might be to start with some yoga by the beach, visit the Mayan ruins, take a dip in a cenote, and end the day with a Mezcal and some seafood under the swaying palm trees. Despite not having a crew along to help with the production of these images, I captured what I could when the light was nice and was even able to find a few willing volunteers to model for me! (Jorge, the bartender, is our new BFF!)
If you have a project on your desk and are in need of a photographer to bring that idea to life, don't hesitate to reach out via e-mail, I'd love to chat!
